Welcome to the new format of Sparkle!! After much thought and consideration, I decided to change up the format a bit. My blog has many resources that my newsletter doesn’t offer and I promised to provide you with all the things that sparkle, and this space will do just that!! I hope you enjoy and benefit from this new delivery of content.
Happy Birthday to Sophia!!
Seven years ago today at 4:13 in the morning, I became a mama for the first time! I’ll never forget walking through the local Stop and Shop grocery store with The Hubs in-between contractions, grabbing snacks and drinks before heading to the hospital to give birth 12 hours later. My diamond girl is growing into this little mama whose heart is larger than life. I can only pray that I continue to set an example for her to follow.
As always, you can follow along the festivities of Sophia’s birthday over in my stories. But let’s get on with this weeks highlights!
Fashion
I participated in an online styling group over on FB and the stylist recommended I try the half-tuck look… At first, I said “Nope, not happening” but then I gave it a shot and now I’m hooked! It totally changes-up your styling game! What I really love most about it is that you don’t have the struggle of trying to tuck your whole shirt in and then untuck it a bit to get it “just right” around your entire waistline. Instead, just tuck the front and Boom!! I made a quick demo for you to check out!!
Beauty
ImPress Press-on Manicure
These nails are seriously a game changer! I first discovered them about a year ago and let me tell you, if you don't have time to get a mani and you want your nail game-on, the impress One-Step Gel nail kit will not disappoint. They stick on and let me tell you, they last for close to three weeks! They come in various color combos- I love them!
Lifestyle/Kiddies
Child Artwork Frame
This frame has to be one of my favorite items to share with you all. I was gifted two of these a few years back by my mother-in-law. I never knew they existed and they are genius! They are perfect when faced with the struggle of "What do I do with all the kids' artwork or math tests grades?!" Display them in these frames and you can actually house many papers. I keep the special paintings or grades in the frames and just add to it with newer ones. At the end of the school year, I take them out and put the work in their individual bins (crazy, maybe?). The only problem we have is that we currently have two frames. Need to get another one for Jameson. #thirdchildprobs
Wellness
All Natural Armpit Detox
I’ve shared my journey trying to find an all natural deodorant with you mamas now for months. I have two brands that I’ve been alternating, but before I share what they are, here is a blog post where my sister-in-law and I made an all natural detox paste to help rid our body of toxins it endured for many years of using traditional deodorant.
Inspiration
I wanted to share my experience of having not one, but two children receive early intervention services- speech therapy. Being a teacher myself, I struggled with not picking up on the articulation issues both Sophia and Brayden experienced. My hope in sharing this is to bring comfort to those mams who feel like they missed the “signs” or even the mamas whose children are struggling in any area of development… Without a doubt, the first step is scary and I share it all in this post.
And that’s it for this week’s picks!! As always, I am so appreciative of your support and love sharing tips, products, and pretty words with all of you.
P.S. I have an exciting project in the works, and will share more details in my Facebook group!
