Summer is officially here which means the Nikola kiddies are crossing items of their Summer bucket list!
Creating a summer bucket list (things to do) is a great way to plan family time throughout the season. We’ve created one for the last few years now and it’s something that creates hype for kiddies! They can’t wait to start thinking about all the fun activities they wish to do when they are out of school.
Although Sophia (9) and Brayden (7) don’t need much prompting to write out their ideas, Jameson (4) of course wanted to take part in “writing down” his ideas and this is how we did it!
The Prep Work:
First, I prepped them- I mentioned in a car ride home that we need to start thinking of things we want to do this summer. I wanted each of them to come up with at least 3 things they want to do. This caused much excitement and conversation about potential ideas and even last summer events.
The Reminder:
During dinner, I said we are going to write down our three ideas on our lists AFTER dinner. Again, this brings about more conversation and excitement for all the things that they find entertaining!
Go Time:
After dinner, each child received a piece of paper and a choice of writing utensil and began mapping out their list. Of course, Sophia had a running list of things while Brayden, my minimalist, jotted down the bare minimum. Sophia also wrote down a few things for Jameson.. Although being the youngest, he too, wanted to “write” his list. #gojameo
The Reveal:
When finished, collect the lists and take their ideas and put them into one Summer Bucket List. We like it on a big sheet of paper but doesn’t have to be. You can download a this freebie to list all your ideas!
Happy planning!! I’d love to hear what’s on your bucket list!
